Bicycling home from school, James Pope and Daniel Parker stopped to listen as a homeless woman told a fireman how the fire in the building behind them started. With his skill at reading people, James knew the woman was lying.

In episode two of The Orphan Boys Mysteries, the teens use twenty-first-century computer skills, modern gadgets, and social media, to attack the arson case. Their investigation becomes complicated by the undertone of low-income families being illegally evicted from apartments.

The case also threatened to be dangerous. A few sinister people took umbrage at the boy’s actions.
